摘要:The paper consists of three parts: general presentation of Common Information Model (CIM),it’s application in solving selected power system problems and conclusions.CIM is an independent data model platform described in IEC 61970/61968 recommended for Smart Grid architectures. In current version it contains about 900 classes and 2650 native attributes, describing different aspects of energy domain. In general,CIM provides basis for modeling topologies of the power grid for transmission and power grid, exchange of messages among different stakeholders and standardized interface specification between different systems.Changing power infrastructure needs a new approach to Information and Communication Technologies.A lot of new services, utilities and use cases arrive and stakeholders within Smart Grid have to deal with interoperability and integration issues.Amount and kind of data exchanged between different systems will rise in result of increasing number of systems in Smart Grid. There is a need for international standardized semantic data model for data exchange between systems from different vendors.Such elegant solution would reduce cost of Smart Grid interoperability connected with integration efforts. The use of CIM can be the answer for this need.As a potential international standard it has wide acceptance of energy sector and is mentioned in many national standardization roadmaps for Smart Grid.It can be used to describe and exchange data about power grid topology, which is very important in building common map of energy infrastructure provided by many small and medium power vendors and power islands. The necessity of measurement data exchange, energy scheduling and reservation as a source for decision making and forecasting system is also a factor that can be described and solved by CIM usage.
