摘要:This study is aimed to know the most effective of cooperative learning methods to improve student learning activity and motivation in Filsafat Ilmu course and to get the profile of students cognitive achievement. The classroom action research is conducted in two cyles with 38 students as research subject. First cyle is applied STAD methods and second cyle with Jigsaw method. The result indicate that Jigsaw method is more effective than STAD method to improve the students learning activity and motivation in Filsafat Ilmu course. The profile of students cognitive achievement in STAD method for good crite-rion is 18,42%;for adequate criterion is 23,68% and for less criterion is 62,26%. Meanwhlie, in Jigsaw method,the profile are 2,63% for very good criterion;18,42% for good criterion,and 78,94% for ade-quate criterion.
