  • 摘要:This study aims to determine the effectiveness of remediation using shaped reading refutation text to reduce students misconception about the acid base concept in class XI Science State 4 Senior High School Pontianak 2010/2011 school year. This research is a quasi-experimental (Pre-Experimental Design) One-Group Pre-Test Post-test pattern. The data was taken from all students in grade XI Science totaling 114 students with a saturation sampling technique. The tests used in this study was a diagnostic test in the form of multiple choice with three alternative answers and three alternative grounds consisting of 10 items. Based on data analysis,the average decrease in the percentage of third-grade students to the misconception that 31.7% (XI Science 1),43.7% (XI Science 2) and 35.9% (XI Science 3). The average percentage decrease student misconceptions are spread on 10 concepts. Conceptual change were analyzed using statistical tests McNemar (db=1,α=5%) and the Binomial test (α=1%). There is a significant decrease in student misconceptions as much as 5 concepts (XI Science 1) and 7 concepts (XI Scinece 2 and XI Science 3) after remediation. Values obtained for the effect size of 2.03 (XI Science 1), 4.74 (XI Scinece 2) and 3.17 (XI Science 3) so that remediation contributes improving student learning out comes about 47.88% (XI Science 1),50% (XI Science 2),and 49.92% (XI Science 3). Remediation of students misconceptions using shaped reading refutation text,effectively reduce students misconceptions in acid base concept.
