摘要:The objectives of this research were to know:(1) the difference between the learning models Science Technology Society (STS) dan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) to increase science literacy and science achievement of students if reading literacy and prior knowledge were controlled;and (2) which learning model is better to increase science literacy and science achievement of students. This research was quasi experiment research that used pre-posttest comparison group design. The populations of this research were the seventh grade students of MTs Cikembar in the second semester of the academic year of 2014/2015 with the number of 320 students. The data were analyzed using the multivariate test with significance level of 5% and the average of N-Gain. The results show that:(1) there are significant differences of influence between learning model STS and CTL on scientific literacy and science achievement of students if reading literacy and prior knowledge are statistically controlled;and (2) based on average of N-Gain,STS model is better to improve scientific literacy and science achievement of student in the topic of environmental pollution and global warming at MTs Cikembar.
