  • 摘要:The aim of this study was to describe the thinking process of elementary students with high ability in math on estimating numeration problem. The subjects of the study were elementary students in grade 5 who scored more than 75 in math test. The result of the study showed that the thinking process of students in understanding the problem is the process of accomodation,namely understanding the problem by reading repeatedly. In making the planning of problem solving activity,students also use process of accomodation. They accommodated the numbers that have a relationship so easily operated mentally. In implementing the plan of solving problems,students used of the process of assimilation,which was implementing a plan that has been made. In examining the answers,students also used the process of assimilation,which retrace the work has been done before and after the final solution obtained by calculating mentally.
