摘要：In this research the definition and development of chamber music from the first period to the present day is analysed by scanning domestic and foreign sources. The research is limited with historical development of chamber music. Detailed study about the forms and sorts will be the subject of the next article. The research is a descriptive workout due to its purpose and method used. Due to the lack of written sources about chamber music in Turkish,this research is important by means of being a source for the researchers.
