摘要：The aim of the research is mentioning the importance of visual language and visual culture in the process of culture building and commenting by benefiting from methodologies which different disciplines apply and to emphasize the effectiveness of the artist in cultural field researches. The relationship of production processes and ethnography has been examined by using literature survey method with this aim in this research. Ethnographic field study is a process based on long period of participation in the life of the group which the ethnographer studies and by this way it is based on the data taken. In this process,different ways of getting information are preferred. One of these is visual documentation. When we take art products as a visual document lightning cultural life of the period,it is also possible to see ethnographic identity which focuses on individual,group and society structure by the way of observations which are in close relationship with the daily life of the artist. "Being there” as a basic principle of ethnography figure is also important in the frame of looking inside from inside rather than looking from outside which has been loaded on the artist. As a result,it has been seen that different disciplines have been used by artists purposely or without any purpose by knowing different methodologies of different disciplines in arts researches and productions. The artist who tries to understand his period,looking for answers for the problems has been in struggle for looking around himself more closely. Ethnography is only one of these ways.
