摘要：A number of Latin American countries have now embraced ecotourism as one of their approaches to establishing sustainable economic development strategies.Latin America is uniquely suitable for ecotourism.The region has a natural competitive advantage,i.e.,Latin America has unique ecosystems,offering one of the world’s most promising grounds for the development of the ecotourism industry.Latin American countries are at different levels of development and at different stages in the lifecycles of their ecotourism industries.This paper elaborates on the promises and challenges permeating the management of Latin America’s ecotourism industry.
