摘要：This paper reports about the possibility to influence the error of central tendency in the evaluation scales.Was used 5-point and 4-point format in your Answer Skalová 6 items methodology to self.The results showed that the omission of the midpoint of response range,the frequency of affirmative responses to the range of endpoints and the sense helps to eliminate the error of central tendency.In the end of the article to discuss the possibility of technical and ethical implications of such a procedure in empirical research.Self-rating Scales.Technical implications.Ethical implications.Error of central tendency (ECT) belongs to the basic set of constant rating errors (Guilford,1954).The essence of ECT is reluctance to give extreme scores on the continnuum of used rating scales.Raters express tendency to prefer ratings in the direction of average and to avoid extreme judgments.
