摘要:Effects of chronic exercise on serum hematological parameters (HP) and lipid profile have been examined in fe w studies concerning our population;and only some possible effects have been reported. In this study, the effects of chronic aerobic exercise on HP and lipid profile in middle-aged men belonging to master athletes group (MAG;mean age:50∙4 ± 4.5 yrs;n= 11) performing exercise training for 25.9 ± 12Λ (10-40) yrsf 5.0 ± 1.4 d ∕w k t 8∙2 ± 1.9 h/wk and physical fitn ess group (PFG;mean age:51.9 ± 3.5 yrs;n= 11) performing exercise training for 23,5 ± 10.3 (10-40) yrs,2.5 ± 0.5 d∕w k,4.2 ± 1.2 h/wk,and sedentary males (mean age:49.3 ± 3.7 yrs;n- 11) were compared.Their McυcVO2t total cholesterol (TC)f triglycerides (TG)f HDL-C and LDL-C were measured.MaxVO2 was higher in MAG and PFG compared with CG (p<0∙01,p<0.05t respectively).MAG had lower body fa t ratio than CG (p<0∙01)∙ There were no statistically significant differences in HP (leukocytes,Hbt Het,MCVt MCH,MCHCf thrombocytes,MPV,erythrocytes) among the three groups (p>0.05),However,thrombocyte and MPV values of MAG and PFG tended to be lower when compared with CG.TG were found to be lower in MAG than in CG (110 ± 27 mg/dl versus 224 ± 87 τng∕dlt p>0∙05)∙ Due to the relatively lower thrombocyte and MPV scores of the exercise groups, one may speculate that chronic aerobic exercise may decrease the tendency to coagulation. The low levels of TG in MAGt knoιυn to have reducing effects on cardiac disease riskt can be thought as a positive effect of aerobic exercise. However, more studies are necessary to as se ss the relationship between coronary heart diseas e and the decline in TG levels as a result of chronic and intensive exercise.
