摘要:The purpose of this study ιvas to evaluate arthroscopically assisted anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction of the chronic tear fo r an average follow-up of 30 months.A total o f 24 patients (18 male,6 female, mean age 32.7 ± 9.5) underwent arthroscopically ACL reconstruction using seτnitendinosus tendon autografts.A standard rehabilitation regiment was used for all patients following surgery, including immediate continuous-passive-motion during hospitalisation.Progressive weight bearing was allowed as tolerated. The evaluations included objective and subjective scoring (Tegner,Lysholmf International Knee Documentation Committee score - IKDC) and instrumented testing (Cybext KT-1000).Mean Lysholm score was 96.1 and mean Tegner score ιvas 6.0.The IKDC score was normal or nearly normal for 87.5% of the patients. The rate of those who resumed previous sports activity level was 75%.KT-1000 arthrometric testing displayed a mean iηjure d∕uninjured difference of 1∙4 ± 2,2 mm.Hamstring and quadriceps isokinetic strength of the operatively treated leg was asses se d to be 85.5%,88.3% and 84.9o∕o of the non-operated leg for knee extension at 60./ sec,180./ sec and 300./ sec respectively. The mean results for knee flexion were 85.1%,84,2% and 85.1% at 60./sec,180°/sec and 300./ sec respectively. The results of the prese nt study sug gest that the procedure is efficient in restoring satisfactory knee stability for most patients.
