摘要:Anterior tibial displaceme nts of 15 fem ale ballet dancers (mean age 25.9±3.9) from the State Ballet Company were evaluated with a KT-1000 arthrometer.None of the dancers had experienced previous knee injuries.Pas sive displacem ent tests were performed with 15,20,30 lbs (pounds) of force, manual m axim um displacement an d quadriceps active te sts were applied to both kne es of each subject.Compliance indices were calculated by taking the differences of tibial displacem ents of pa ssi ve displacem ent tes t resu lts at 15 a nd 20 lbs.R ight kne e disp laceme nts with 15,20,30 lbs of for ce were significantly (p<0∙01) higher compared with left kne es.The more the displacement meant the more joint laxity. The right lower extremity supports the body weight, thus fac ing more imicrotrauτnatic da ma ge'.This typ e of damage is thought to increase kne e laxity and injury risk. The improvem ent of similar studies with a greater number o f subjects and supporting them with arthroscopic and histologic investigations may change th e,microtraumatic d am age'h ypo thesis into a scientific reality.
