摘要:We assessed the aerobic capacity in male foo tball play ers (n = 27,age = 22.2 ± 2.1 yrs),swimmers (n = 9i age = 15.7 ± 1.9 yrs) an d taekwondo ath letes (n = 8,age = 19 ± 2.0 yrs) using the indirect method of Astrand. The aerobic capacity values are compared with the echocardio-graghic values (which were measu red at resting conditions).Comparison of the diff erent sports reve aled grea ter left ventricular end systolic dia meter (LVESD) scores infootball play ers.The LVESD in football players (28.8 ± 3.9 mm) is significantly (p < 0.05) grea ter tha n in tae kwond o athlete s (24.6 ± 2.7 mm).The LVESD scores in swimmers (29.0 ± 5.6) are significan tly higher tha n in tae kwondo a thletes.Conclusively, statistical analysis revealed no significant correlations between VO2 ma x and th e echocar-diograhic m easurements.
