摘要：The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of children`s temperament and mothers` child rearing attitude on social competence of children. The subjects were 256 children(4- to 6-year-olds) who participated in Chun`s substudy I (1992). Cluster analysis and two-way ANOVA were used to analyze the data. The instruments were the Temperament Rating Scale,Mother`s Child Rearing Attitude Scale,and Kohn`s Social Competence Scale. The results showed that there were significant social competence differences by temperament and child rearing attitudes. Interaction effects were found for boys in the 4- and 5-year-old groups. The main implications were confirmation of the validity of the "goodness of fit" concept and of the typology of Korean children`s temperament..
