Privatespeech is typically thought of as self -verbali -zationsthatperformaself- regulatoryfunction but both definitions and functions ofprivate speech have varied depending on the perspective of the theorists or researchers.The role of self-verbalizations in the development of self· - control has been investigated from at least three major perspectives: Piagetian,Vygotskian, and Behaviorists perspectives(Berk,1992;Harris,1990).
