摘要：Internet development has affected many aspects of our life. Among the others,it has revolutionized the way of communication. As a result,the way of transmitting all kinds of knowledge has also changed. The ease of searching,quality and availability of information are very significant now. Consequently,what determines the university academic potential is mainly its researchers as well as the accumulated knowledge bases resulting from their activity. The Open Access initiative becomes more and more popular nowadays. It is a part of a wider Open Science initiative and it addresses the problems with a limited access to the results of conducted research. Gdańsk University of Technology started to implement a project called Multidisciplinary Open System Transferring Knowledge - “MOST Wiedzy”,which means “the bridge of knowledge”. It is a modern Internet platform of the same name integrated with numerous external systems and databases that provides an open access to the resources created and gathered at the University. Ensuring the quality of the processed data,wide openness and accessibility of the “MOST Wiedzy”,the platform will greatly improve the flow of knowledge,promote the research and educational potential of the University as well as facilitate the establishment of research-to-research (R2R) and research-to- -business (R2B) cooperation. As a result,it will stimulate the development of innovative and commercial solutions..
