摘要：The main goal of the paper is to analyse the evolution of the market of corporate control in Russia. The key features of this mechanism of governance are described,as well as the main stages of its development and the influence of the market of corporate control on the changes in Russian companies. The paper also contains an analysis of the role of corporate control market in a corporate governance system and its relationships with other mechanisms of corporate governance,like the ownership structure,the capital market,and the bank-ruptcy mechanism. The results show that the main event in the Russian economy which influenced the market of mergers and acquisitions was the financial crisis of 1998. The paper constitutes part of a wider research project which focuses on the evolution of the corporate governance system in Russia.
