摘要:In the true fashion of contemporary literary series for children and teenagers,Diana Wynne Jones’s Howl’s Moving Castle (1986) is the first novel in a trilogy successfully combining fantasy and science fiction,The novelty of the book resides in the fact that it is imbued with intertextual elements continuously challenging the traditional patterns of fairy tales and creating all the necessary premises for the construction of a new type of mythology more likely to appeal to a 21st century reader,From this perspective, the current paper will provide a brief overview of the elements of this mythology and will examine the techniques and strategies employed in its 2007 translation into Romanian..
