摘要：Aging occurs with advanced chronological age and the total of changes which increase deaths possibility. Increasing age is the biggest risk factor for functional deficiencies. As a result of increasing life expectancy and decreasing birth rates the world population is ageing. Contrary to what is known,devoloping countries will be more affected by aging population than developed countries. Turkey will be one of the fast ageing countries. Older populations in our country have increased more than other age groups. While in 2013,the total population was 13,7‰,the total growth rate of elderly population was 36,2‰. It is predicted that elderly population in Turkey will increase 201% between the years of 2008-2040. The rapidly aging population increases the risk of some chronic diseases and as a result new and serious problems which threaten public health have occurred. It estimated that ¾ of all deaths will be related to aging in developing countries until 2020.
