摘要：The purpose of this research is to determine teacher candidates’ media and television literacy levels and reveal whether these levels differ or not in terms of some variables. The research was conducted within the framework of the relational survey model. Teacher candidates studying at Yildiz Technical University in the undergraduate and pedagogical formation programs of Faculty of Education formed the population of the research. Besides,the sample of the research is formed with 220 undergraduate and 452 pedagogical formation students. As a means of data collection tool;"Media and Television Literacy Levels" scale consisting of two sub-dimensions named as awareness and addiction,were used. According to the results obtained in the research,the teacher candidates have high levels of media and television awareness,low levels of dependence,and generally high media and television literacy levels. In addition,the level of media and television literacy of the teacher candidates differ in terms of type,gender,perception of achievement,types of entrance to university and accommodation.
