摘要:In this study,it is discussed that there are remarkable insufficiencies which cause instructor dependence in vocal training practices such as giving particular importance to voice and not adequately concentrating on the professional instrument,and not being able to form vocal methods aimed at the field by those who get vocal training in any type of the vocal performance art. Within the context of instrument and voice,the insufficiency of a method with piano accompanied vocal exercise appropriate to Turkish and Western music is viewed as an element reflecting this situation. In Turkey,vocal training is academically given in Turkish Folk Music,Turkish Classical Music,Opera,and rarely Jazz departments in faculties. Increasing the professional instrument competence of individuals who are trained in these departments is thought to be helpful in training individuals that are qualified in vocal arts,and in constituting rich vocal methods special to performance type and language. It is another important matter to be emphasized that the interested researchers studying in this field must be promoted and supported.In the study,it is mentioned that the vocal trainers,who study both Western music and polyphonic Turkish music,are insufficient in the accompanying-instrument – the piano – and also that composers do not make enough contribution to this matter. When the problem is considered,it is seen that as the present vocal practices are generally of foreign origin,there comes up the problem of methods’ not being accordant with the modal structure of polyphonic Turkish music in vocal training courses. Therefore,it becomes more and more difficult to teach the basic elements of vocal training and various singing techniques to individuals. When the insufficiency of the piano is added to this,the individuals who get vocal training are deprived of both the standards of tonal/modal organization set forth by the Western music,and the modal form of the Turkish music. In the study a number of suggestions are made for the solution of such problems. This study was made by descriptive survey model and was built on the content of the “Polat Vocal Exercises” method,which is still in the development stage.
