  • 摘要:Various classifications of higher education models such as state-centered model,state-controlled model,continental Europe model,French model,Humboldt model,academic self-governance model,German higher education model,Anglo American model and Anglo-Saxon model are encountered in the literature. The variety of these classifications may cause confusion in the field. Therefore,it is possible to classify higher education models,which were student or teacher centered models at the very beginning,basically under three main headings. These are;centralized model that assumes the function of knowledge transfer,the research model that focuses on togetherness of research and education,and the market-oriented model which is called entrepreneurial university. Although various classifications of higher education models exist in the literature,it is not clear with which model Turkey's higher education comply. As a result of the evaluation of the construction of post-republic modernization and the centralized structure adopted in the public administration,it can be claimed that,Turkey’s higher education reflects mainly the characteristics of the centralized model. However,no study evaluating development of Turkey’s higher education model in the historical process and describing the situation in a holistic way is existed in the literature. Although the reasons for this situation can be explained related with the fact that Turkey's higher education is relatively new;it is necessary to remedy these deficiencies and that the model of Turkey’s higher education should be explained in detail. Within this frame,the purpose of this study is holistically to review higher education models existing in various names in literature,and to evaluate higher education model of Turkey. In the study,higher education models are handled as Central Model,the Research-Focused Model and the Market-Focused Model according to Clark’s Coordination Triangle. Each model is evaluated with regard to concept,structure,function and finance. Lastly,taking all models into consideration,an evaluation of higher education.model.of.Turkey.was.carried.out.
