摘要：Sustainable development is defined ensuring that future generations meet their needs,as the development process in which the needs of the current generation can be met. Therefore,the importance of the concept of development as well as the concept of growth in the country has been expressed. The aim of this study is to explain the relationship between electricity consumption and development index rather than growth index. The study;between 1970 and 2017,Human Development Index and per capita electricity consumption data were used. The relationship between development and the structure of electricity consumption in Turkey has aimed to reveal. Because the development variable is static and electricity consumption is not stable,ARDL boundary test and Toda and Yamamoto causality tests were used. According to the results obtained from the data,model and empirical analysis;There is a long-term relationship between development and electricity consumption. The Toda and Yamamoto causality test used to determine the direction of this relationship shows that there is a causality from electricity consumption to development.
