摘要:Commodification is a process that not only relates to how the production becomes a mass product,but also to how the product can be distributed to the market to meet customer needs. Wayang Kamasan painting is a phenomenon of commodification and creative industries which is interesting to study critically with an approach to cultural studies to determine the wishes of tourism. As an analytical tool theories of commodification are applied. The method used in analyzing a modification research is the critical method that is emancipatory,involving painters,and businesses owner (tourism industry). The results of the discussion are (1) in the production of wayang Kamasan painting,obscuring of meaning of the symbolic into economic significance,keos (brecolage),and into mass production,(2) the distribution of painting puppet Kamasan in the market is very dynamic,in addition to meeting the needs of the local market but also the global market in the form of creative products. (3) consumption of wayang Kamasan painting not only by the local people as offerings,but also by tourism as a souvenir.
