摘要：This study is titled “The Meaning of Youth Moral Characteristics in Serat Wulangreh by Pakubuwono IV: Macapat Durma’s Pupuh”. This study aims to explain and express the ethical values contained in Serat Wulangreh,especially within the Durma pupuh. This study uses a hermeneutic approach with an analysis of Javanese literary discipline. The data sources used were library resources,namely the text of tembang Durma (Durma song) verses in Serat Wulangreh by Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwono IV. Data collection techniques are carried out in several steps,namely (1) inventory of manuscripts,(2) description of manuscripts (3) transcription by using standard transliteration (4) translation by using literal and free translation methods. The validity check of the research data was carried out by using (1) semantic validation,(2) repeated studies,and (3) discussions with colleagues. The technique used in analyzing the data is the understanding (vresthen) technique,with the stages of discussion,namely,revealing,explaining and translating the song. The results of this study reveal that in several Durma macapat songs in Serat Wulangrehvirtuous contains moral characteristics for the youth.
