摘要:In this study, it is aimed to obtain opinions of foreign students about their motivation state in learning Turkish as a foreign language and observe their behaviors in the classroom related to their motivation. For this purpose, motivation methods of foreign students while learning Turkish, factors improving their motivation level, activities weakening their motivation and their behaviors in the classroom related to their motivation were investigated. The case study method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was employed to conduct the study. The study group consisted of fifteen foreign students learning Turkish as a foreign language. The research data were collected through semi-structured interviews and observations. The collected data was analyzed by content analysis. The research questions were answered by presenting the findings, prepared in accordance with the data obtained, as codes and categories. As a result of the research, it was determined that these students use unique motivating methods to motivate themselves, often games and fun activities motivate them, repeated and similar events reduce their motivation levels and their motivation in classroom is mostly depending on lecturers. Using the results obtained in this context is expected to contribute to ensuring an efficient and effective learning process in teaching Turkish to foreigners.
