摘要:In this study, the attainment rate of the aims and objectives in the secondary school level Turkish education program (2005) and the relationship between this rate and the attitudes of students towards the course were intended to be identified. Descriptive survey method was used in the study. The sample consisted of randomly chosen five hundred 8th grade students who were attending secondary schoolsin a total of eighteen secondary schools in the villages, towns, and the central district of the Aksaray province. A 25-item scale which included the aims and objectives was formed. In order to identify the attitudes of the students towards the Turkish language course, the “Attitude Scale towards the Turkish Language Course” in the Turkish language course books was administered. Based on the achievement test results, it was found that students were not able to reach the intended aims and objectives at a satisfactory level. A positive correlation that could be considered high was found between the attainment of the specified objectives in the curriculum and attitudes of students towards the Turkish course.
