摘要:Theater is a field of art which presents segments from life on a live stage. In addition to telling people to people, this art form enables people to see their realities from a different perspective. Undergraduate Theater and Drama Activities course is a course that prepares students for life which prospective teachers take and perform plays in. In this article, theater plays performed by Turkish Language Teaching Department students between the years of 1994 and 2016 were evaluated in terms of their textual content. The performed plays were classified according to their themes, using document analysis method. 9 main themes and sub-themes related to those were identified. When the plays were classified in terms of their themes, the Individual and the Society and Communication themes appeared as the most frequently recurring themes in the plays. The least preferred themes were Immigration, Historical Characters, and Myths. 64% of performed plays was dramas and 33% was comedies. Musicals were the least chosen genre with 3%. Researchers hope that these findings will form a valuable source of data for language instructors, authors of theater texts, creative drama leaders, and academicians.
