摘要:Academic writing has types such as dissertations, articles, papers, projects and posters. These types usually occur when a research process is reported in composition. The longest process of academic writing which has a systematic in itself in terms of the writing is thesis. The thesis writing manuals published by the institutes explain how the thesis sections should be shaped in thesis writing process. The aim of this study is to evaluate thesis writing guides in terms of academic writing. This research is planned as qualitative research and document analysis was used in the research. The research universe is thesis writing guides in the field of educational sciences. The sampling of the research is constituted by thesis writing guidelines of the Institute of EducationalSciences of the 15 universities which are randomly selected. Content analysis was made by reading 15 thesis writing guides to reach the findings. In the study, the data obtained from the thesis writing guides are coded first. Then the encoded data are grouped together. It was tried to reach the theme from this group. The resulting codes and themes are arranged, frequency and percentage distributions are added. As a result of the research, it was determined that there are differences in the information given to thesis sections in the thesis writing guides published in educational science institutes. It has been determined that the coverage of the categories reached in the research ranges from 6.6% to 100% in the thesis writing guides. Moreover, it has been seen that the guidelines for the introduction, methodology, development and conclusion sections of the thesis and how the language and narrative features of the thesis would be are not sufficient. The results obtained in the research are thought to be beneficial in terms of ensuring cooperation in thesis writing guides.
