摘要:In this study, the level of the use of cohesive tools in the written works of Egyptian learners learning Turkish as a foreign language was investigated. The aim of the research was to determine the level of use of cohesive tools by the learners who were studying in Egypt and offer solutions in this regard. The study was conducted in Egypt with 100 students at A2, B1, B2 and C1 levels out of the 500 students who formed the entire population at the Yunus Emre Institute in the Turkish Cultural Center of Cairo in the 2014-2015 academic year. According to the results, the frequency of the use of cohesive devices by the learners from the most frequent to the least frequent were lexical cohesion, conjunctions, ellipsis, reference and substitution. Although an increase was observed both in the frequency of the use of cohesive devices and their levels of correct use, it was found that the levels of the use of cohesive tools in the written works of the learners was low. It was found that in all the written works that were examined, relative pronouns in reference tools, dropping of suffixes in ellipsis, the entirety of substitution elements, and conjunctions of distinction, sequencing, explanation and assumption were almost never used.
