摘要:The concept of "value", which can be characterized as social, cultural, economic, national and moral codes of a community, constitutes the most basic field of study in our times. As a matter of fact, features unique to each society are gradually disappearing or changing in the globalizing world. For this reason, the identification of international values and their transfer to future generations are vital. The most important responsibility for this transfer falls squarely on the shoulders of teachers. For this reason, in-service teachers and prospective teachers need to know every aspect of the notion of value and all the unknowns regarding this concept. This necessity forms the basis for this research. A two-part investigation was conducted in this study. A threequestion form was used to determine the metaphorical perceptions of national/moral/universal values of prospective teachers in different fields. In the same form, three open-ended questions were given such as "Explain what national/moral/universal values mean and give examples", and an attempt was made to determine the sub-structures related to the concept of value at the levels of knowledge and perspective of the prospective teachers. A total of 182 prospective teachers who were in their senior year at the Kafkas University Faculty of Education in the Spring semester of the 2017-2018 academic year and who voluntarily participated in the study, constituted the sample of this research designed, using the phenomonological model which is a qualitative research method. The study group of the research consisted of senior students, and it was formed, using the objective sampling method. The purpose of forming the sample from senior students was that the participants were in the final phase of their pre-service education, and they had taken more general knowledge, professional and field knowledge courses and learned more about national, moral and universal values in those courses in comparison with other students. In the analysis of the data, content analysis technique, which is one of the qualitative methods, was used. Based on the results, 154 out of 182 participants produced 71 valid metaphors for the national value concept, 125 participants produced 59 valid metaphors for the moral value concept, and 140 participants produced 67 valid metaphors for the universal value concept. It was determined that the most frequently produced metaphor for the concept of national value by participant prospective teachers was "flag". It was also determined that 125 out of 182 participants produced 59 valid but different metaphors regarding the concept of moral value. Among these metaphors, "love" metaphor had the highest frequency. Again, it was determined that prospective teachers produced 67 valid metaphors for the concept of universal value, and that the most frequently produced metaphors were "world”, “sky" and "water".
