摘要：The purpose of the study was to investigate the opinions of Turkish language arts teachers about the assessment and evaluation of Turkish language arts teaching, reading skill and listening/monitoring skill. The current study is a qualitative study. A semi-structured interview protocol was used as a data collection tool. In the piloting of the interview protocol, 5 Turkish language arts teachers were involved and then the interview form was administered to 50 Turkish language arts teachers. In the interview form, there are 23 questions. The collected data were analyzed through content analysis. The findings related to the assessment and evaluation in the dimension of Turkish language arts teaching, reading and listening/monitoring skill revealed that most of the participants do not know the concepts of assessment and evaluation, they mostly use assessment and evaluation at the end of the process, most of them do not make use of the assessment and evaluation tools provided in Turkish Language Arts Curriculum (5, 6, 7 and 8th grades) and the textbooks, they used the same types of questions, mainly open-ended and short-answer, to measure their comprehension skills, especially when the class indicated a lot of problems such as crowdedness.
