摘要:With the help of modern linguistic studies, texts have been accepted as means of communication. Linguistic structures are tools for creating texts. For this reason, in language teaching, these structures should be taken into consideration with the functions of creating the meaning of the text and text-based grammar teaching should be considered as the basis, accordingly. The purpose of this research is to evaluate grammar teaching within the context of teaching Turkish to foreigners and to examine the opinions of the students on text-based grammar teaching activities. Within this context, in order to teach the target grammar structures, pre-text, while-text and post-text activities were prepared by using two different authentic texts.For the post-text activities; consciousness-raising activities based on texts through which functions of language structures were questioned, analysed and implied to students, and creative grammar activities through which the form, meaning and use of these structures were internalised, were designed. These activities were implemented in Istanbul University Foreign Languages School B1 Preparatory Class to 16 students and after the implementation, to collect data, focus group discussion was held with two different groups of 7, in total, 14 students. Teaching grammar based on texts was found meaningful, useful, fun and memorable by the students.
