摘要:Reading has an important place in the Turkish Language Teaching Program (2018). Because it is the language skill of which achievements outnumber other skills. 2018-2019 academic year secondary school Turkish textbooks are prepared according to the mentioned program. The aim of this research is to examine the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade textbooks prepared by the Ministry of National Education according to the 2018 Turkish Language Teaching Program in terms of reading achievements. The content analysis technique was used in the study which is a qualitative case study. As a result of the research, it has been observed that reading achievements are not used regularly both within each book and between books. Book authors do not pay attention to the distribution of achievements once they have used them once. This poses a risk for students to acquire some reading skills.
