摘要：The main aim of EMAS (Eco-management and Audit Scheme) system is to draw attention of owners and managers towards actions which improve pro-ecological management. Apart from that the EMAS recommends taking actions towards working out and putting in force strategies and policies which would be economically and technologically rational and would make production processes and products more ecologically sound. Representatives of the optimistic current define globalisation as a process of economic development and removal of trade mechanism barriers. The opponents, however, claim that globalisation causes the destruction of the institution of state as the international financial capital forces standardisation of economic policy. Globalisation is accompanied by technological progress which induces the decrease in the employment of low-qualification workers and simultaneously increases the need for new professions which require higher education and constant supplementary training. Medium sized wood industry enterprises, especially those not modernised, cannot compete in the face of companies which employ up to date mechanised and automatic technological processes. The problem of globalisation in wood industry enterprises is tightly connected with improvement of human resources management system and a process of workers appraisal Globalisation should be treated as a challenge of modern world which may lead to not only economic integration of the world.
