摘要：Term of globalisation is concerns with all areas of our life. It also relates to the forestry and wood processing industry. The paper deals with contemporary conditions of the forest industry and problems of identification of the Slovak Republic position in the foreign wood and wood products market during integration in the European Union (EU). There are characteristics of the international cooperation with international organizations and elementary information about the foreign trade with wood, timber and paper products. The last part deals with future trends in furniture sector and impact of the EU enlargement.
