摘要：The paper describes the approach followed by an European project named IMAGINE aimed at applying to industrial clusters some innovative tools that are typical of the environmental policy area, making them an effective and useful opportunity for SMEs and local communities to pursue sustainability objectives. In particular, the described approach encompasses the implementation of some methodological “steps” foreseen by the EMAS Regulation at the cluster level. The project focuses on four industrial clusters of Tuscany region (Italy) and on opportunities offered to implement local innovative environmental policies and tools to improve the competitiveness of the tenant companies. The project deals with the total quality of all productive process by focus on sustainability criteria. The innovative aspect of the study consists in the opportunity to create a model of environmental management to transfer in other supply chains and clusters.
