摘要:The exibtion Italian Portree trough the centuries, held in 1938, was most important and mostly vistied exibition in the interwar Belgrade. More than 80.000 visitors from Kingdom of Yugoslavia and neighbouring countires attended the exibition. It was held at Museum of the Prince Paul in downtown Belgrade, featuring over hundered paintings and sculptures of the most important Italian artists. Besides its culutral aspect, the exibition was also an huge Italian propaganda effortt. Its regime used the exibition as the tool for enlarging the Italian influence in the Kingodom of Yugoslavia, especially after the signing of the Belgrade Treaty in 1937, between the two states. The exibition was ceremonialy opened at the Treaty’s first aniverssary. However, later decline of the relations betweeen the Yugoslavia and Italy hampered the further cultural relations.
