摘要：The urban-rural interface is a complex concept, approached by specialists from several fields, interested in optimizing the ties between the urban environment and the rural environment, in the context of urban expansion. The article’s purpose is to analyze the various meanings of the urban-rural interface, to highlight its features, as well as to highlight the mechanisms that give it its functional nature. At the same time, its main general characteristics at the level of the Romanian system of settlements are highlighted.
