摘要：This research and development aimed to find out an effective training model to be applied in vocational teacher training of Vocational High School of Arts and Culture. The method used in the research was Research and Development (R&D). Its its design used was the postest only with comparison group. The data was analyzed using t-test, statistic analysis, and descriptive analysis. The variable influencing the success of training implementation are the quality of: 1) sources; 2) program; 3) academic facilities; 4) supporting facilities; and 5) services. This research and development results an open design training model. An open design training model emphasizes on increasing creativity, developing expression, sharpening sensitivity, and developing innovation. The final conclusion of the research is that the use of open design training model is proven to increase the quality of competence mastery, the quality of works, and the productivity of the participants.
