摘要:The research objective is to improve science learning outcomes of students in elementary schools. The data was collected in March-April 2011. Researchers collaborated with a group of science teachers in grade IV and V Elementary School in East Jakarta. The results showed the existence of teachers’ better understanding about how students learn and teachers teach, benefit of the reflection and peer observation, systematic learning improvement based on reflection and input from colleagues in a collaborative manner, knowledge exchange among teachers, teachers’ documentation of their work progress, feedback exchange among teachers, and publicity and dissemination of the final results of Lesson Study. Meanwhile, the results obtained by students, in addition to direct involvement in the learning process, are the improvement of creativity in both discussion and in the establishment of science experiments upon the posed questions related to the material being discussed. In group discussions, there have been students who stand out their friends in a group. Therefore, the science learning activity becomes developed and focused on students more.
