摘要：In recent decades, the entire ecosystem of the Temstica River Valley became endangered due to the influence of both the negative natural and human impacts. This work is aimed at evaluating the environmental quality in the Temstica River Valley based on the assessment of local people and researchers in this area. The results presented were obtained after the application of two types of analysis: descriptive statistics and t-test for independent samples. The sample included 42 students - researchers from two different departments at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. The results of the research on the dominant influences on the threats to the environment in the Temstica River Valley indicate that there is an obvious differences in perception among the respondents of different educational backgrounds, ie. study programs. Those differences are minimal, but it is noticeable that students of biology believe that ecosystems are degraded more due to the influence of industry and traffic, while students of geography consider it is the impact of population and soil erosion. The research results offer the possibility of finding some guidelines that might decrease the vulnerability in the Temstica River Valley.
