摘要：This study aims to recall the 155th anniversary of the Romanian Principalities Union,which represents the assertion of the modernization process for the Romanian society.Based on the relevant documents of that epoch,both from Romanian and foreign archive resources,the material highlights the merits of Romanian nation as well as the ones of Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza in achieving this Union.The importance of the Union on one side,as well as the qualities of the Prince imposed by a double election on the other side,have been proven by diplomatic reports belonging to France,England and Austrian representatives in Principalities.Meanwhile,the archives resources represent an evidence for the efforts spent in order to achieve and acknowledge this Union.A special chapter has been dedicated for analyzing the reform process of the Romanian society.Despite all the obstacles encountered,the perseverance and firm actions of Prince A.I.Cuza determined achieving those big reforms.His extraordinary merits have been officially acknowledged by the Legislative Assembly of the Country,where he was proclaimed as founder and reformer of the Romanian State.
