  • 摘要:Recently, the renewable energy sources have been an important topic in numerous discussions on energy issues. One of such sources is the wind, i.e. the production of electricity using wind power plants. One of the basic parts of a wind power plant is the column for generator with blades. Most often the steel columns are used, but also there are examples of columns made of reinforced or prestressed concrete. This paper compares the application of steel column and reinforced concrete column for a particular wind power plant. The static calculations of four different types of reinforced concrete columns (differing in cross-section size) were compared and the best type of concrete column is chosen. The construction costs for this type of column are estimated and compared to the cost of a steel column. It can be concluded that, in this case, a reinforced concrete pillar is a reasonable solution.
