摘要：The view of some American and Russian scholars on the notion “frontier” is outlined.The author’s typology of frontiers is adduced.The distinction of “non-limit” and “limit” as well as “line” and “plane” frontiers is grounded.The notion of “frontier space” is introduced.The directions of migration of Ukrainians in their past throw the context of shaping Ukrainian frontier are described.The line of the Ukrainian frontier which is localized in the Don river valley is defined.It is stressed on the partly Eurasian character of the Ukrainian land space which is connected with its essential spread on the steppe lands.
其他摘要：Висвітлено бачення деякими американськими та російськими вченими поняття „фронтир”.Наведено авторську типологію фронтирів.Обґрунтовано виділення „неграничних” і „граничних” та „лінійних” і „площинних” фронтирів.Запроваджене поняття „фронтирний простір”.Окреслено напрями міґрацій українців у минулому в контексті формування українського фронтиру.Визначено лінію українського фронтиру,яку локалізовано в долині Дону.Наголошено на частково євразійському характері українського геопростору у зв’язку з його значним поширенням на степові терени.
