摘要:The paper is a first reconstruction of the lithographic production of Joseph and Albert Rieger, two artists active in Trieste
between the twenties and the seventies of the eighteenth century, when the city experienced the peak of its economic and demographic expansion. Among their clients appear the Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg, the Baron Pasquale Revoltella and Mr. Nicolò
Bottacin. Their production ranged between various genres and was adapted to the purchaser’s requirements: they illustrated some
historical episodes, new buildings, urban landscapes, karst caves and the territory along the Adriatic coast (Istria and Dalmatia).
They availed themselves of the lithographic technique which met in those decades a large spread and was later supplanted by photography, a new art form to which Albert and his brother Charles dedicated themselves at least since 1864.
