摘要：Este estudo tem como objetivo uma análise do balanço sedimentar na Baía de Suape, localizada no litoral sul de Pernambuco, próxima ao Complexo Industrial e Portuário de Suape, com intuito de definir a magnitude e a direção do transporte de sedimentos, localizar trechos onde ocorre erosão e deposição, e quantificá-los. Essa análise foi feita a partir de dois levantamentos batimétricos obtidos em um intervalo de treze anos, 1994 e 2007. Os dados possibilitaram a determinação das profundidades e morfologia do leito de fundo, além da confecção de mapas temáticos, perfis batimétricos e cubagem, mostrando que a taxa de erosão foi superior a taxa de sedimentação. O volume de sedimentos que saíram do sistema foi de 1.331.236,46m³, sendo apenas 192.481,27m³ de material que entrou no sistema, mostrando que a Baía de Suape apresenta um balanço sedimentar negativo. Este trabalho propôs três hipóteses que explicariam a causa do balanço sedimentar negativo, as quais têm relação direta com ações antrópicas, que modificaram as circulações das correntes internas da Baía de Suape e da deriva litorânea: diminuição do aporte sedimentar; desequilíbrio por obras de dragagens e; ocupações irregular da faixa de praia.
其他摘要：This study aims to analyze the sediment balance in Suape Bay, located on the southern coast of Pernambuco, close to the Suape
Industrial Port Complex, in order to define the magnitude and direction of sediment transport, to locate sites where erosion occurs and
deposition. This analysis was made from two bathymetric surveys obtained over an interval of thirteen years, 1994 and 2007. The data
made it possible to determine the depths and morphology of the bottom bed, in addition to making thematic maps, bathymetric profiles
and cubing, showing that the erosion rate was higher than the sedimentation rate. The volume of sediments that left the system was
1,331,236.46m³, with only 192,481.27m³ of material entering the system, showing that Suape Bay has a negative sedimentary balance.
This work proposes three hypotheses that explain the cause of the negative sedimentary balance, such as what are the direct relations
with anthropic actions, which modify how the internal currents of Suape Bay circulate and derive the coast: decrease in sediment input;
imbalance due to dredging works and; irregular occupation of the beach strip.
