摘要:The process ofmanaging electroniccontent is increasingly complex, significantlymoreso than traditional print distribution. Over the past decade, there have been significant investments in thestandardization of various parts ofthesupply chain of published information. Some ofthesestandards have been successful, someless so. Thisarticle describes some NISO standards that impactelectronicresource managementand reasons why some have been successfuland why others havefaced challenges in adoption. Sincetherearelimited resourcesavailableto standards development, questioningwhatmakesa projectsuccessful or not, will help to improve our projectselectionmoving forward.
