摘要：O caso apresentado é resultado de uma pesquisa realizada, ao longo de dois anos, em uma empresa recuperada por antigos funcionários, localizada no Rio Grande do Sul,que se tornou uma cooperativa industrial. Ressaltase que a análise descrita neste artigo tem o recorte específico no que tange à questão da participação dos cooperados na gestão da organização. Com base nas observações realizadas ao longo da pesquisa de campo, optamos por apresentar o tema da participação ou gestão participativa no âmbito organizacional sob a crítica tragtenbergniana, que aborda o assunto, muitas vezes, como o conto de "Alice no País das Maravilhas". Isto porque o fenômeno que ocorre na cooperativa, pelo menos no que diz respeito às suas práticas organizacionais, é ilustrativo do pensamento crítico de Tragtenberg acerca das práticas participacionistas utilizadas como meras ferramentas de gestão. Para a explanação do caso, adotamos a intercalação entre o estudo empírico e a teoria de modo a facilitar a compreensão do leitor, bem como evitar fragmentações desnecessárias entre a teoria e a prática.
其他摘要：This case study is the result of research carried out over a two year period at a firm located in Rio Grande do Sul that was taken over by former employees and became an industrial cooperative. The analysis described in this article focuses specifically on the issue of the participation of the members of the cooperative in the management of the organization. Based on the observations made during the field study, it was decided to present the topic participation or participative management in the organizational environment from a Tragtenbergian perspective, in which the subject is often dealt with like in the story "Alice in Wonderland". This is because the phenomenon found in the cooperative, at least with regard the organizational practices, illustrates the critical thinking of Tragtenberg concerning participation practices used as mere managerial tools. In order to explain the case, we have intercalated the empirical study with the theory to facilitate comprehension on the part of the reader, as well as avoid unnecessary fragmentation between the theory and the practice.
