摘要：O presente artigo analisa a relevância da atividade cafeeira no Brasil e sua histórica relação com a degradação do meio ambiente.Diante da função socioambiental da propriedade rural, estabelecida pela Constituição Federal de 1988, não se pode admitir, hodiernamente, que o cultivo e a plantação de café sejam prejudiciais ao meio ambiente ecologicamente equilibrado.Constata-se que a as questões ambientais foram e continuam sendo inerentes à cafeicultura e procura-se aferir se, efetivamente, poder-se-ia imputar responsabilidade civil a eventuais degradadores.Buscou-se compreender o problema por meio de raciocínio dedutivo, com vertente metodológica jurídico-teórica, alicerçando-se na análise de doutrinas e artigos relacionados ao tema proposto.
